According to legend, King An Dương Vương was given a magical crossbow by a golden turtle (Kim Quy). The crossbow's trigger was made from the turtle's claw and could shoot thousands of arrows at once, making the kingdom invincible.
The story takes a tragic turn when the king's daughter, Princess Mỵ Châu, unknowingly revealed the secret of the crossbow to her husband, a prince from the enemy kingdom. This betrayal led to the fall of Âu Lạc and remains one of Vietnam's most famous cautionary tales about love and loyalty.
